Returns Policy – Barney Bats

At Barney Bats, we want every customer to feel confident when purchasing from us. If you are not fully satisfied with your order, this Returns Policy Barney Bats explains how to request a return, exchange or refund in accordance with UK consumer law.
1. Your Right to Cancel (UK Consumer Contracts Regulations)
If you have purchased goods online, you have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your items.
To exercise this right, you must inform us in writing within the 14-day period.
This right applies to most products under Returns Policy at Barney Bats, but customised or bespoke items (e.g., personalised bat work, custom refurbishments, tailored repairs) cannot be cancelled unless faulty.
2. Eligibility for Returns
You may request a return if:
- The item is unused, in its original condition and original packaging.
- The wrong item was sent.
- The item is faulty or damaged on arrival.
- You changed your mind within the legal cancellation period (for non-custom items).
Items not eligible for return:
- Used or damaged goods (unless faulty on arrival).
- Custom-made, customised or bespoke cricket bat services.
- Gift cards or downloadable digital content.
3. Return Period
You have:
- 14 days to notify us of your wish to return.
- 14 further days to send the item back once your return request is approved.
4. How to Start a Return

Include your order number, reason for return and clear photos (if reporting damage or faults).
We will respond with return instructions and, where applicable, a return authorisation reference.
5. Return Shipping Costs
- If the item is faulty, incorrect, or damaged upon arrival, Barney Bats will cover return postage costs.
- If you are returning an item because you changed your mind, you are responsible for return shipping.
- We recommend using a tracked postal service, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in transit.
6. Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
Approved refunds will be processed within 7–14 business days to your original payment method.
We may make a deduction for loss of value if the product shows signs of use or damage not present at delivery (as permitted under UK law).
7. Exchanges
If you wish to exchange an unused item, contact us to check availability.
Any difference in price will be refunded or charged accordingly.
8. Faulty or Defective Items (Consumer Rights Act 2015)
You are entitled to:
- A full refund within 30 days if an item is faulty.
- A repair or replacement if a fault occurs after 30 days but within a reasonable time.
- A final right to a refund or price reduction if repair or replacement is unsuccessful.
This applies to both goods and repair services.
9. Repair Services & Cricket Bat Work
Due to the nature of cricket bat repairs and refurbishments:
- Wood is a natural material and may behave unpredictably.
- Repairs aim to extend the bat’s life, but we cannot guarantee the bat will not break in future use.
- Cracks, edges, and toe repairs are stabilisations designed to prolong usability, not restore the bat to a “new” condition.
Faults arising from natural wear, misuse, moisture exposure, or impact damage are not covered under return or refund criteria.
10. Items Lost or Damaged in Transit
If your bat or item arrives damaged, notify us within 48 hours with photos of:
- Internal and external packaging
- The damaged item
- Any courier damage notes
We will assist with a replacement or claim, depending on the situation.
